As a dad to my adventurous 14-year-old daughter Jodie, we set off on an incredible journey that would forever change our lives. We decided to turn the world into our classroom, diving headfirst into the thrilling adventure of homeschooling while exploring the vibrant streets of Singapore, the serene landscapes of Laos, the bustling markets of Thailand, and the rich culture of Cambodia.For 111 days, we traveled far and wide, soaking in diverse cultures and connecting with all sorts of fascinating people. Each day brought new experiences, and with every new place, we learned something that expanded our minds and hearts.

One of the most unforgettable experiences happened in Cambodia, where we found ourselves in the heart of a bustling slum. There, we rolled up our sleeves and set out on a mission to feed 200 children. The laughter and joy in their eyes as we served them warm meals were priceless; it felt like we were sharing not just food but also hope and connection in a world where they often felt invisible.

It wasn’t all smooth sailing; we faced a wave of challenges that kept crashing down on us. But instead of shying away, we decided to tackle them head-on. In doing so, we found ourselves feeling a lot like surfers riding the waves.

Looking back now, all the memories and experiences from our journey have become invaluable assets for us. They’ve broadened our horizons, enriched our everyday lives, and shaped our future as a community. We’ve learned the importance of compassion, adventure, and embracing life’s ups and downs.


BIO:
A dedicated educator and consultant, Pastor Han Kim holds a Bachelor of Science in Architecture from the University of Newcastle. With a passion for empowering students, Pastor Han has served as an International Student Advisor at Morling College in Sydney, guiding students through their academic journeys. Previously, he taught at Faith International Academy in Davao City, Philippines, where he nurtured young minds and fostered a love for learning. Currently, Pastor Han works as an educational consultant for youth and young adults, helping them navigate their educational paths and unlock their full potential.
